Aspiring Marketing, PR, and Advertising Professional
My name is Genesis Vega. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, I graduated from high school in 2017. I am a recent graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, IL where I majored in PR & Advertising with a minor in Event Planning.

My interest in public relations and advertising began when I was given a shot at shadowing the CEO of a full-service, performance-driven marketing agency the summer before my first year of college. I admired the work, and as a result, I decided to accept a position as a temporary intern for the summer. During that time, my goal was to acquire and absorb as much knowledge about the industry as I could. From attending client meetings to drafting pitches, and producing media kits at the governor’s mansion in Puerto Rico, I knew that I wanted to major in public relations and advertising and become a professional in that industry.

During my time at DePaul University, I have taken courses in event planning, graphic design, advertising campaigns, and public relations composition, among others, and a number of internships.
​After studying abroad for six months in Rome, Italy, I returned to Chicago and accepted an internship opportunity at KLPR (Karrie Leung Public Relations) as a public relations intern where I worked for a total of six months ending August 2020.
